Properties of Placenta
Throughout a pregnancy, the placenta plays a vital role and has developed over millennia to ensure the health of the next generation. The placenta is an organ found only in mammals and supplies the baby with oxygen, nutrients, food, and protection while being nurtured in the mother during pregnancy. Historically, some cultures have even practiced Placentophagy, or the consuming of placenta after birth to help the mother recover and as a source of highly nutritious elements.
Recent scientific research has shown placenta contains rich growth factors, hormones, proteins, glycosaminoglycans, nucleic acids, polydeoxyribonucleotides (PDRNs), antibodies, and other concentrated nutrients that can rejuvenate organic tissue. It is rich in over 128 growth factors including HGF, NGF, EGF, FGF, CFS, IGF-1, TGF, IL1, IL2, IL3 and IL4.
